Billing
Learn how billing works at Cecil, including invoice cycles, billing requirements, and subscription tracking.
How are invoices calculated?
Billing at Cecil is primarily dependent on commercial dataset consumption. Because we provide access to various third-party and proprietary data layers, your monthly charges reflect the volume of the data requested through our platform. The prices for each dataset are found in the Pricing section within each dataset's documentation. Please note that if your data consumption is of a significant volume (i.e. billions of hectares), we will reach out to discuss usage-based pricing models.
When will I be invoiced?
Cecil operates on a monthly invoicing cycle. At the end of each calendar month, your created subscriptions are tallied, and an invoice is generated and sent to your designated Point of Contact (POC).
What information is required for billing?
To ensure seamless billing and compliance, we require the following details:
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Point of Contact (POC) | Full name and professional email address |
| Organisation Name | The legal entity name of your company |
| Organisation Address | The registered legal address of your organisation |
We will reach out for this information and please also include these in your outreach when asking for verification.
How are annual subscriptions tracked?
For specific annual subscriptions, such as the IBAT Unlimited Core Licence, Cecil tracks usage based on the date of the first request.
Your 12-month subscription period begins the moment you make your first data call or request under that license. Cecil will automatically monitor this window and notify your POC when the subscription is approaching its renewal date.
Can I monitor my usage mid-month?
Yes. You can track your current data consumption by reviewing created subscriptions via the SDK. We are also happy to help create a draft mid-month report for you.
Who do I contact for billing disputes?
If you believe there is a discrepancy in your monthly invoice or consumption report, please reach out to our accounts team at support@cecil.earth with your organisation name and the relevant invoice number.
