## Usage notes

This dataset is intended to support EUDR forest degradation risk assessments (i.e. initial state on 31 December 2020). For EUDR deforestation risk assessments, see JRC Global Forest Cover dataset. The dataset is non mandatory, non exclusive, and non legally binding for EUDR compliance. Data is preliminary, with improvements expected by end of 2025. Index of the forest type. Data combines > 15 global datasets to categorise forested pixels from the JRC Global Forest Cover dataset into highly protected forest (primary forest) or reported planted/plantation forests. Remaining forest pixels are assumed to be naturally regenerating.
