This dataset contains locations, geometries, and properties of Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs). Access is licensed by the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT).

## Usage notes

The dataset is updated 2-3 times per year. KBAs without boundaries are given a 1 km circular boundary around their point location. Subscriptions return all KBAs that intersect the submitted AOI.

KBA name in native language.

Indicates whether or not a KBA is an Alliance for Zero Extinction (AZE) site.

### site_area

- **Units:** ha
Reported size of a KBA.

### geojson
- **Type:** str
KBA as a geoJSON polygon (boundary) or point (centroid).
